Noa issued a statement on social media
Liverpool FC star Cody Gakpo's girlfriend, Noa van der Bij, has announced their baby has "passed away during pregnancy". The couple only just announced they were expecting their second child last month.
The two welcomed their first child, Samuël Seth, into the world in 2018. They were set to become a family of four as they announced the news on May 30.
In a joint update, Gakpo and Noa shared: "Our little family is growing. We can’t wait to meet you."
Today (June 27), Noa issued a heartbreaking update announcing the passing of their baby boy.
Noa said: "With broken hearts., we share the devastating news that our baby boy passed away during pregnancy. Thank you for your love and support. Elijah Raphael Gakpo. Forever Loved. Forever our son."
Another message with a picture of a lit candle said: "We went to church to light a candle. Afterward, we walked to the church playground with our son Samuel. There was only one other child there. His name was Elijah.
"There could not have been a more beautiful sign from god. He reminded us that our little boy is never far away."
Noa works for a modelling agency and regularly shares updates from her personal life on social media.
Gakpo joined Liverpool in January 2023 from PSV Eindhoven for around £40m and has been a regular in the starting XI in his time on Merseyside. He is currently playing for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
